Synopsis
A  Newsweek article in February 2004 revealed as UN inspectors scoured Iraq in search of weapons of mass destruction, the country’s ruthless dictator, Saddam Hussein was hard at work - on his second novel. The Iraqi National Theater was planning to turn his first novel (Zabibah and the King) into a hit musical, the country’s biggest-ever stage production.

Believing that the only “failure of imagination,” was in the 9/11 Commission’s findings, Saddamn The Musical takes you to Baghdad and Washington during the months before and after September 11, 2001. Through rock songs and video projections you will be guided through a world of egos, calculated errors, omissions and misinformation.

See the Washington machine at work as Rumsfeld reveals the “known unknowns.” As Condi convinces Dubya they would have moved “heaven and earth” if they had been formally advised of the “exact time and place” of terrorists attacks. As former CIA head, George Tenet uses his “slam dunk” certainty, and Cheney his Halliburton incentives to aid in leading Dubya on his fundamentalist crusade to invade Iraq and topple Saddam’s regime. A

Discover Saddam at his pinnacle of arrogance; a supreme ruler, who no longer gets the same kicks from unlimited access to wealth, drugs and torture.  So he begins to explore his creative side.  With no nuclear weapons program, no connection to Osama Bin Laden, and a compulsive need to turn his first novel into a musical, we see a side of Saddam that few have dared to portray. Using extensive research seldom mentioned in mainstream news, Saddamn The Musical entertains and evolves while connecting the dots in a sometimes shocking, sometimes poignant way.

Book, Music & Lyrics by Mitch Kess

by Saddam Hussein, Uday & Qusay Hussein, Dubya, Donald Rumsfeld, George Tenet, Colin Powell, and Condoleezza Rice
