THE LAST AMERICAN was developed in two parts. PART ONE: THE MIND VIEWING MACHINE was produced at Baby Jupiter, NYC in October through November 2000 and in March 2001. The use of both live and recorded video helped create the environment that industry people described as a "phantasamagorical experience where song after song blows the house away." PART TWO: THE UNIVERSAL MIND was presented at The Festival for New Musical Works at Dixon Place in November 2001. The parts were united for a Concert Version of The Last American, which was produced by The Public Theater/NYSF at Joe's Pub in April 2002. An Invite Only, Industry reading of the full script and songs was held in June 2003 at the magical, mystical loft of Director, Tom O’Horgan.
With revisions in place The Last American is waiting for the word from Steven Spielberg and Hal Prince .
